The AN/PVS-30 Clip-on Night Vision Weapon Sight, adds the latest high performance Gen 3 light intensification night vision to most rifles and day scopes. This product is appropriate for front line long range rifles. The company Knight Vision® patented technology makes the AN/PVS-30 universal and assures the accuracy of your range-tested day scope boresight will not be degraded. When the AN/PVS-30 is added in front of your day scope, your existing optic, eye relief, and cheek weld are undisturbed. The refractive lens provides high performance light collection in a light weight design. Knight Vision® patented Single Interchangeable Battery (SIB) allows use of either 123 or AA single batteries, with a battery life exceeding 24 hours, and can be changed while you remain in shooting position. The highly efficient power circuit allows use of depleted flashlight batteries to provide several hours of operation. The AN/PVS-30 is optimized and tested for medium and long-range sniper weapons including .50 caliber rifles and daylights with magnification up to 20x.

The AN/PVS-30 is a MIL-SPEC, SOCOM-issued CNVD designed to attach to a weapon system in front of an existing day optic. It provides operators with instant nighttime engagement capabilities, providing extreme flexibility on the battlefield because operators do not need to carry a separate weapon platform dedicated to night use. When at night, the AN/PVS-30 is simply attached to MIL-Standard M1913 Picatinny Rail in front of the day optic. It is fast and easy to take it on and off.

The AN/PVS-30 is appropriate for long range rifles. The long refractive lens gathers a very large amount of ambient light. The system is carefully collimated (boresighted) at the Knight’s Armament factory to within 0.5 MOA. This means that any POA/POI shift will be mechanically less than ½ MOA. Depending on the individual rifle’s setup, it is possible that no deviation will occur. The L3Harris image intensification tube is shock isolated to withstand large bore recoil including .50 BMG. It delivers a stunning amount of light amplification. The power knob doubles as a manual gain control, allowing operators to adjust the intensity of the image to the amount of ambient light. Focus is quick and easily adjusted by turning a large collar studded with little knobs for extra purchase while wearing gloves.

The AN/PVS-30 is ideal for use with high magnification day optics on long-range weapon systems. At the same time, it can easily pair with intermediate range scopes. The sweet spot for magnification is between 12-15X, but urban areas and full moons will allow for usable resolution up to 20X. A grown man can be recognized out to 1,000 meters under a ¼ moon.

Knight’s Armament patented Single Interchangeable Battery (SIB) technology allows the AN/PVS-30 to function off of commonly fielded batteries. It can run for up to 24 hours off a single AA or CR123 battery. The tethered battery cap can be flipped to accommodate either while a rubber cap protects the exposed/unused side. In fact, the highly efficient circuit allows use of a depleted flashlight battery to provide several hours of operation.
